Yes — every EngVarta session is automatically recorded the moment your call begins. You don't need to enable anything; recording is built into the platform by default.
Where to find your recordings
Open the EngVarta app and tap the My Recordings section. You'll see every past session listed with the date, the Expert's name, and the session length. Tap any recording to play it back inside the app.
What you can do with your recordings
- Review live corrections. The Expert corrects your grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation in the moment. Listen back to hear exactly what they said and lock the correction in your memory.
- Catch your own filler words. Most learners use "um," "uh," "like," or extra repetition without realising it. Hearing yourself is the fastest way to drop these habits.
- Track fluency progression over weeks. Compare a recording from week 1 with one from week 6 — the change in your pace, confidence, and word choice is often striking.
- Shadow practice — repeat after the Expert. Play back the recording and repeat the Expert's sentences out loud, matching their pace, intonation, and stress patterns. This is one of the most effective methods for reducing mother-tongue influence (MTI), improving voice modulation, and neutralising accent. Even 5 minutes of shadowing per session compounds quickly.
Privacy
Your recordings are private. Only you can access them through your logged-in account. EngVarta does not share recordings with anyone outside the platform.
How long are recordings kept?
Recordings are available for 30 days from the session date. After that they are removed from My Recordings. If you want to keep a recording for longer, save it within the 30-day window — or replay it as many times as you need before the window closes.
The honest reason recordings matter
Most learners practise speaking and never hear themselves. As a result, the same mistakes repeat session after session — because their ears have normalised the patterns. Recordings break that loop. Even reviewing 5 minutes of one session per week — combined with shadow practice — meaningfully accelerates your fluency, accent clarity, and voice control.
