To get an EngVarta certificate, you must have an active plan, at least one session in the last 30 days, and enough practice hours to reach a certificate level. The first level, Bronze, needs 20 hours. EngVarta gives milestone e-certificates based on the total hours you practise with our English Experts.
What do I need to get a certificate?
All three of these must be true:
- You must have an active plan.
- You have had at least one session in the last 30 days.
- Your practice hours have reached the next certificate level.
Your practice hours are the total time you have spent in plan sessions with our English Experts. Your hours add up across all your plans, including earlier ones. You get each level only once.
How many hours does each certificate level need?
- Bronze: 20 hours
- Silver: 50 hours
- Gold: 100 hours
- Diamond: 200 hours
- Platinum: 500 hours
- Sapphire: 1,000 hours (the final milestone)
Each new level also earns you reward coins.
How do I get my certificate in the app?
- Open the Certificates tile on your app dashboard.
- Enter the name you want on your certificate. Check the spelling carefully. You confirm the name only once, and you can't change it later.
- View and download your e-certificate.
Set your certificate name early, because your certificate can't be generated without it.
Why haven't I received my certificate yet?
Check the three requirements above. Your plan must be active, you need a session in the last 30 days, and your hours must reach the level. Also check that your certificate name is set. If all of this is in place and you still don't see your certificate, tap Customer Support on your dashboard, then Talk to our support team.
Is the EngVarta certificate accredited?
No. It is a milestone certificate that recognises your speaking practice hours. It is not an exam result or an accredited qualification. Each certificate has a verification ID, so it can be checked. Read more in the EngVarta FAQs.
